Why Monelo exists
I was using free expense-tracking apps myself — plain money managers. None of them clicked for me. My goal was to build my own financial empire, with a long-term vision and a clear view of what I could improve in my finances.
On 5 November 2024 I decided to build the app I'd actually want to use — one that genuinely helps you manage money, not just record it. That's how Monelo began: an app built out of need, to help. What I was missing was simplicity combined with real tools — budgets with multiple categories, multiple wallets and currencies, savings goals and expense planning, flexibility, and the certainty that my data won't vanish from the app overnight. All of that went into Monelo.
If you look at your finances the same way — then Monelo was built for you.
How it was built
That same day I wrote down the features I'd want to see in such an app — and it was a genuinely long list — then the architecture and the design. I'm not a UI/UX designer, so the design alone took me months, especially since I was working at the time.
On 4 March 2025 I wrote the first lines of code — sitting down to the part I understand and enjoy. From the first line to the public launch exactly a year and a month passed: Monelo has been available since 1 April 2026. And even though that's April Fools' Day, the launch announcement was no joke.
It wasn't easy — there were moments of doubt, but I always believed in this project, because it's not just another phone game, it's an app with a real purpose and a real problem to solve. And so an app came to life, made for people who want to start managing their money consciously, take control of their household budget, and build long-term financial stability.
Where Monelo is today
Monelo is available on iOS and Android and is constantly evolving. Right now it has a 5.0 rating on the App Store — for an app at such an early stage, that's a clear sign the direction is right.
Not every feature I had in mind at the start made it into the first version — and I say that openly, because Monelo is a project in motion, not a finished product. I'm constantly learning new things and using them to keep improving the app.
Where we're heading
The features that didn't make the launch are still on the list — they'll arrive step by step. The direction doesn't change: a simple, fast app that genuinely helps you manage your personal finances, not just note them down. I build Monelo the way I'd want to use it myself, and I want it to do that better with every version.
The best way to see where it's heading — is simply to start using it now.
